Biography/Letter of Introduction:

Greetings, All!

I was cultivated in Palmetto, Georgia. I graduated from The University of Georgia with a Bachelor's of Science in Education and a Minor in History. Earned advanced degrees and certifications include a Masters in Middle Childhood Education (Mathematics & Science), and Educational Specialist in Curriculum Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University. In 2011, I enrolled at The University of West Georgia's certification program to secure school-based administrator certification. I returned to UWG to embark upon my doctoral studies in 2015.

Fall 2022 kicks off my 28th year in education. My work history includes teaching experience in Gwinnett, Fulton, Clayton, and now, Coweta counties. I have taught mathematics, science, social studies, English/language arts, and reading. I have served as a classroom teacher, team leader, department chair, school-level Student Support Team Coordinator, instructional math coach, district-level instructional facilitator, and a site-based facilitator. My experience as allowed me to serve on various committees and boards. My fondest moment was my tenure on the Local Arrangement Committee for the 2007 National Council of Teachers of Mathematics National Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.

I have two children - Jaida Nicole and Josiah Jeron. Jaida, the 2019 Miss Senior at Albany State University, graduated in May 2019 with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education. Jaida launched her teaching career the same fall and is thriving in her work. Josiah, a former student at Evans Middle , now plays Varsity football for the Newnan Cougars. He keeps the family busy with year-round athletics.

When time and grandparents permit, I enjoy time with my family and friends, travel, and attending ALL Atlanta-based team sports events.
